I hope you are all have a great day full of costumes, fun and treats 🙂 Although the kids will be all over the Halloween classics (oh henry, reese pieces, skittles, mars bars etc. etc.) the adults need some fun treats too!
I was browsing the recipes I’ve saved from other bloggers & websites and decided to share some delicious chocolate recipes with all of you! Rich, chocolate treats- perfect for your Halloween party!
I decided to write a color inspiration post today and although it first came from a wedding photo the trends are great for any type of occasion!
I’ve seen so many gold accents for parties and metallics are a big trend for home decor as well.
Here are some simple, classy ways to incorporate gold without being over the top.
I love both of these looks! The gold accents in the charger, stationary and cutlery gives this black event a super chic look! The gold cutlery, votives and centrepiece vases are also a nice glamorous touch to the white pieces.
even just a few accessories will make an impact.
This board says it all!
For the home
We all know how much I love west elm- every one of these pieces is gorgeous and I can’t wait to add them to my space.
This time of year you can find great gold pieces in any store! Homesense, Ikea, Target, Bouclair, Pier 1, ZGallerie, etc.
Use painters tape to give a simple vase a personalized touch. You can add some color and make your own design! (This idea would work for clear votives as well)
Get the kids to draw a face on the clear plastic cup. In the meantime, prepare vanilla pudding and add a few drops of green food coloring. Let them help you fill the cups and top with crushed oreo or chocolate cookie. YUM!
Can you guys tell I love special occasions? I really think you can make it fun at any age.
that’s all for now – wishing you all a wonderful evening!
* I do not own any of the photos posted above. I have collected them from various sites.
Tonight’s dinner was one those “make up the menu on the spot” dinners. It turned out to be yummy so it became a what’s for dinner tonight? post..
Here’s what was on the menu:
Spinach Stuffed Chicken : I created a slit in the boneless, skinless chicken breast and filled it with my spinach mixture (cream cheese, grated parmesan, chopped spinach and garlic powder). I don’t measure this, I add until it looks right to me. You can then marinate the chicken or coat it with breadcrumbs (we liked it crispy tonight so I used the breadcrumbs).
Sweet Potato Cubes: I peel and chop the sweet potatoes into small cubes. I toss them in olive oil and sprinkle with salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder (I ran out of potato seasoning but this was just as good!)
I’ve had the healthy foodies Grilled Corn Salad on my mind so I made this as another side.
I do not own the photos posted above. I got them from google and added them to the post.
Today’s post is about weddings.. I stumbled upon some amazing wedding videos last night and I am feeling totally inspired (as usual) by weddings.
We tend to focus a lot on the bride and her bridesmaids when it comes to accessories. There is nothing wrong with that but as a planner I like remind everyone that the groom is just as important and we want him to feel special too!
I was doing some research and put together a few cute accessories from the groom’s corner on Etsy.
Here are my favourite finds:
I love this striped bow tie by 2Marys.
These bottle openers by EngravingPro are amazing! Personalized and useful- the perfect man’s gift.
Hangers by Design sells this awesome groom’s hanger. I’ve seen them for brides but having one for your guy would make him feel like it’s his special day (even if he may say he doesn’t need it).
Love these cuff links by IzzysVintageGarden. Once again personalized and the perfect touch to any suit.
NestingProjectWed thought of your guy!! We always see the “bride” shirts, sweaters and robes for her to get ready in.. this is something the groom can wear on the day of and have as a keepsake.
We all know I love stationary, this cute paper wrap to go around socks will create some laughter and lighten the mood for a nervous groom! Just a reminder you are always thinking about him.
Feeling romantic now.. time to cook dinner for my guy.
I hope you all enjoyed the weekend. Yesterday I met up with a girlfriend to walk down lakeshore, go into the little shops and have a coffee and dessert at the sweetest little bakery. I also bought some fresh made loaves of bread and it inspired me to get cooking! I love a piece of toast with a tasty homemade butter.
Here are some homemade butter recipes you guys might like :
I was looking for a fun recipe to make for girls night and I decided whoopie pies would be it. There are so many great combinations out there, I had so much fun looking through recipes to pick some for my party. As usual, I chose a few simple favourites to share with all of you, here they are!
