What do you guys think about the all white ornaments? I really like the way these pieces come together with some whites, cremes and sparkles!

I tend to place the ornaments wherever they fit- in no particular way or order. This person had a plan! the diagonal rows of white red and green and awesome!

a snowy tree- this makes me want to curl up by the fire with a hot chocolate!

Over the past few years I have noticed a lot of people mixing in new color schemes- this family tried purple!

And of course, the rustic touch with the burlap!

wishing you all a wonderful day- happy decorating!

Good morning everyone

Today is a Wedding Wednesday post!

Cupcakes have been a popular alternative to wedding cakes for a little while now. I love the idea of using dessert variations instead of a traditional wedding cake. It’s a nice way to get creative and make your event unique.

For those of you who are interested in this trend or who just want a good recipe- here is some inspiration!

Good Morning Everyone!

December 1st is just around the corner and it seems the weekends are filling up quickly. I love all the parties, cocktails and get togethers that come with the holidays. Having friends and family over is the perfect occasion to get crafty and creative- today’s post is all about wreaths, a fun DIY project for any age.

Here are some of my favourites!

hanging a simple wreath in front of a chalkboard is such a unique way to decorate a small area.

Of course a burlap project- this fabric was so popular with the rustic trends this summer. I like this look for rustic holiday decor! You can find these in most craft stores then personalize them with letters and sparkle.

Looking to do something different? Snowflake cut outs glued together (or onto a wire outline) is a modern way to decorate the door.

Who says a wreath needs to be round?

There are so many online tutorials for creating customized wreaths- this is just a tiny bit if inspiration!

Stay tuned for yummy recipes and some winter wedding inspiration this week!

Happy Friday Everyone!

Life has been crazy busy this week- December is just around the corner and everyone is starting to prepare for the holidays.

In regards to weddings and events-I have been seeing a comeback for champagne and gold- it’s a nice alternative to the burlap, rustic look that is so popular right now.

I was part of the set up for a wedding in August that has this color palette- it was such a romantic look!

this look can be dressed up or dressed down- i love that!

Adding some black accents to make it just a little but sharper- perfect for the winter season.

tonight’s menu & dream kitchens

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are all having a great week so far- I can’t believe it’s already Thursday. The week (and the month for that matter) is going by so fast. I did draw a winner on Thursday and I am so excited to send Carley her the $100 Staples gift card to help get organized and creative this holiday season- congratulations and thanks for reading!

Although it’s chilly out today I felt like switching it up and pulling out some of my favourite summer recipes.

Here’s what for dinner tonight:

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Sandwiches: I use this recipe (you can also buy the package or use a homemade barbecue sauce)

Fresh Corn Salad this recipe is really tasty and really simple- the best!

Roasted Potatoes Preheat oven to 425- cut potatoes into cubes, toss in oil and your favourite potato seasoning- I get mine at the Farmer’s Market it adds great flavour. Bake until crispy (about 25mins).

For dessert? peanut butter rice krispies ( I use the recipe on the cereal box and add some peanut butter!)

Enjoy your company, your backyard and something yummy!!

Good morning everyone!

I can’t believe how fast the month is going by.. It’s almost that time of year where the malls get crazy busy and everyone is rushing to get their Holiday shopping done. I will be starting mine this weekend!

I’ve done a few posts about products I love and today’s post is products I love: under $10. These are perfect for small gifts or stocking stuffers!

I love all the Bath & Body Works products- especially the seasonal ones. They are good quality and priced well. These mini candles are 3 for $10 and the foaming soap is $5.50 (or 3 for $15).

To me, Nivea is a classic product- this lip balm moisturizers and adds a touch of shimmer.

Essie’s toggle to the top- love this rich red.

I know so many people who don’t like to drink water (but know it’s healthy)- Mio offers a great flavour with just a drop!

dinner tonight

Happy Saturday Everyone!

It’s a busy day today but I thought I would share a few recipes for those who may want to try something new in the kitchen.

Here’s what’s on my menu

Creamy Garlic Pasta

Easy Crispy Chicken Thighs

Garden Salad with my homemade dressing (that I may have to share someday!)

This meal is so simple and so tasty.

I will also share what’s for lunch– I like to make homemade burgers and freeze them. They are so great to have on hand when you don’t have much time to cook. Today we’re having them on english muffins with artichoke spread, lettuce, mozzarella and a side of sweet potato fries!

Easy Homemade Hamburgers (I add chopped onion to these for texture & flavour- I like doing them myself because you have more control of the portion size)

Sweet Potato Fries: Preheat the oven to 425. I peel and cut my sweet potato as you would for regular french fries. Toss them in a bowl with olive oil, a little bit of cornstarch (this makes them crispy) and your favourite potato seasoning, italian seasoning or  salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika.

Don’t have time for fries? Have chips and a few veggies on the side 🙂

Just a remind today is the last day to enter the Staples contest! All you have to do is go the creative details Facebook page, like the page and like a post. You’ll be entered to win! I am drawing a name tomorrow!

Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Happy Friday!

I hope you are all looking forward to the weekend. Today’s post is all about feathers! This trend is so unique because it is modern yet soft and elegant. I did a January wedding last year which had feather accents and it was beautiful.

Here’s some inspiration
