holiday cakes

Happy Friday!

Welcome to day 8 of our 12 days of Christmas. This weekend the get togethers continue and I have been searching through my recipes to pick a dessert to make for the group.

In this series I’ve posted about holiday cookies, gingerbread treats and festive drinks, today is all about cake!

Here are some holiday cakes for you to try this season

Apple Cinnamon Bundt Cake (mix and match mama has 100 bunt cake recipes and they all look delicious!)

Red Velvet Cheesecake (this is usually my go-to cake!)

Chocolate Pound Cake (a delicious traditional chocolate cake which pairs well with just about any ice cream)

Holiday Spice Cake with Eggnog Buttercream

Good morning everyone

Today is a Wedding Wednesday post!

Cupcakes have been a popular alternative to wedding cakes for a little while now. I love the idea of using dessert variations instead of a traditional wedding cake. It’s a nice way to get creative and make your event unique.

For those of you who are interested in this trend or who just want a good recipe- here is some inspiration!

ballerina birthday

I was out running errands last weekend and I saw the cutest little girl wearing a birthday girl tiara and a tutu. I thought it would be a great theme to have a ballerina birthday (i’m hoping she had one!). I have to do this one day. Next time you’re planning a birthday for your tiny dancer, here’s some inspiration; simple and adorable!

cupcakes for charity

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a great weekend.

The weekend for me was a lot of fun and I have a delicious fall recipe to share. A friend of mine was helping with a bake sale for charity and I told her I would contribute some cupcakes.  Friday night another friend showed up with her “mini me” and the three of us baked some yummy treats!

This is what the night lead to..

We used this recipe.

and some cute cupcake liners from homesense.  Our decorating was interesting given the age difference of the group, but we had fun girl time and got to be part of a charity bake sale to help others- that’s all that matters.

I also got an exciting work phone call and I have 2 professional announcements coming soon that I cannot wait to share with all of you. I spent time with my guy and his family, got to do some shopping and we had this teriyaki chicken for dinner.

That’s all for now- wishing you all a wonderful evening!
