Christmas may be over but the party planning definitely is not- New Year’s Eve is just a few days away and I’ve got a ton of ideas. It’s one of my favourite events to plan because you get a room filled with excited guests celebrating a year past and a new year ahead, and lots, lots of glitter!
Cupcakes have been a popular alternative to wedding cakes for a little while now. I love the idea of using dessert variations instead of a traditional wedding cake. It’s a nice way to get creative and make your event unique.
For those of you who are interested in this trend or who just want a good recipe- here is some inspiration!
First, some pretty designs
And now, some special event worthy cupcake recipes!
I hope you are all having a great week so far- I can’t believe it’s already Thursday. The week (and the month for that matter) is going by so fast. I did draw a winner on Thursday and I am so excited to send Carley her the $100 Staples gift card to help get organized and creative this holiday season- congratulations and thanks for reading!
Although it’s chilly out today I felt like switching it up and pulling out some of my favourite summer recipes.
Here’s what for dinner tonight:
Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Sandwiches: I use this recipe (you can also buy the package or use a homemade barbecue sauce)
Fresh Corn Salad this recipe is really tasty and really simple- the best!
Roasted Potatoes Preheat oven to 425- cut potatoes into cubes, toss in oil and your favourite potato seasoning- I get mine at the Farmer’s Market it adds great flavour. Bake until crispy (about 25mins).
For dessert? peanut butter rice krispies ( I use the recipe on the cereal box and add some peanut butter!)
Enjoy your company, your backyard and something yummy!!
how amazing are these kitchens?? Oh how I would love to be cooking in there. One day 🙂
Get the kids to draw a face on the clear plastic cup. In the meantime, prepare vanilla pudding and add a few drops of green food coloring. Let them help you fill the cups and top with crushed oreo or chocolate cookie. YUM!
Can you guys tell I love special occasions? I really think you can make it fun at any age.
that’s all for now – wishing you all a wonderful evening!
* I do not own any of the photos posted above. I have collected them from various sites.
I was looking for a fun recipe to make for girls night and I decided whoopie pies would be it. There are so many great combinations out there, I had so much fun looking through recipes to pick some for my party. As usual, I chose a few simple favourites to share with all of you, here they are!
