holiday fashion

It’s day 11 of our 12 days of Christmas!

Today I am featuring a post I had published back in early Decemeber. It seems fitting and as the next 2 weeks get full of get togethers, family events and parties.

So here was my holiday fashion inspiration! Whether you are brave enough to go to the mall this time of year or may have something similar in your closet, this could help you put an outfit together.

the little black dress

for21  forever  guess

It’s a classic and you know it will be worn again.

Looking for something a little bit different choose a LBD with some metallic or sparkly details. From left: Forever 21, Forever 21 and Guess.

Blouses

Blouses are great for a more comfortable outfit. They pair well with pants, skirts & shorts and they now come in so many flattering styles. I love the cross over, the casual fit (accessorized with a statement necklace) and the sequin detail look. Dynamite clothing, forever 21 & old navy.

Tanks & Tees

Are you going to be somewhere warm over the holidays? Try one of these looks- or pair with a blazer/ cardigan for those in the chillier weather.

With a tank or tee I love playing with textures and shapes. Lace, jewels, patterns and peplum are trending right now! All of the above-forever 21.

Sweater weather

For those mild days or those nights sitting by the fire- everyone needs a great sweater!

J.CREW does sweater so well! I love all of these looks. (First left- Dynamite clothing).

Tomorrow will be the last day of our Christmas special and I’ll be posting my Christmas menu!

color inspiration: gold accents

Good Morning Everyone

I decided to write a color inspiration post today and although it first came from a wedding photo the trends are great for any type of occasion!

I’ve seen so many gold accents for parties and metallics are a big trend for home decor as well.

Here are some simple, classy ways to incorporate gold without being over the top.

For Parties

I love both of these looks! The gold accents in the charger, stationary and cutlery gives this black event a super chic look! The gold cutlery, votives and centrepiece vases are also a nice glamorous touch to the white pieces.

Good Morning Everyone!

As I was walking through home decor stores last night I found myself picking up various patterned accessories and being so excited about adding some texture to my home. This got me thinking about how much I love stripes for events, my home and even my clothing.

Here is some inspiration for all of you who may be trying to incorporate some stripes into your lives!

For your home:

Or try a fun area rug like this one from Target. stripetowelest

Tea towels are an easy way to add color and pattern because they are used on a part-time basis and they are small so they don’t overwhelm you. These cute personalized ones are also from west elm. I just love that store!stripewestelm

Try adding some colors, textures and patterns in your cushions!

It’s much simpler to have bold, busier pieces for guests only. You take them out when you are going to use them and then put them away so it is nice to have something different then your usual dishes or decor pieces.
