wedding wednesday: cake toppers

Hi everyone!

Remember these traditional cake toppers?

These are long gone and couples are going for more creative ways to top their cakes.

Today is a Wedding Wednesday post and I am sharing with you a trend that I love right now.

Although many couples are choosing cake alternatives such as pie bars, candy bars, cupcakes, macaroon towers etc. Cakes are still trending and these unique toppers are so much fun.

Whether it be theme related, monogrammed or florals, these modern, personal touches to the traditional dessert make them that much yummier!

thanks for stopping by, wishing you all a wonderful day!

the cookie exchange

Ah it is already December 6th! Can you guys believe Christmas is just 19 days away.

This weekend we are hosting a cookie exchange and I absolutely love this tradition for getting friends & family together.

For those of you who have yet to have one of these parties, you have to try it! It is so much fun and can be done 2 ways.

1. Get all attendees to bring a batch of cookies then set-up buffet style for everyone to grab a few of each and take home a mixed box.

2. Everyone brings a recipe and spends the day baking together- you then get to bring home a few of each type.

Here’s some inspiration

dessert tables

Dessert.. my family’s favorite part of the meal. The trend in weddings the past few seasons is having a dessert table/buffet near the end of the night. Some have it as a dessert instead of the cake and some place take out boxes or bags for people to bring treats home.

Why not try this when hosting a party in your home? Give people a few options and display them nicely for a dessert bar after dinner.
